Ocala National Forest Florida
I live in Florida and this is the best area in Florida to dirt bike and ATV ride. Their is a quite large trail system installed recently and new trail head facilities. They did a great job building this new system. Way to hot in the Summer time though. I generally ride here from Thanksgiving to March. After that the heat and critters will tear you up. Lots of mosquitoes, snakes and bears around here. Yuck!
There are some parts of the area that are quite sandy and is clearly not the best place to ride a dirt bike (however ATV,s and dune buggies love it), however if like me you live here, it is the best in Florida. If you have never rode on sugar sand before you will need to know a few things. The best bet is regular knobbie tires but lower the air pressure down to 8-10 psi in the front tire and about 12 psi in the rear
tire. This seems a little low at first, and maybe it is. If you don't you will have a hard time staying up in the sand. We have no rocks, but be careful for the tree roots... wheelie over the bigger roots.
The Ocala National Forest web site will offer you up a trail map and GPS points.
